Behavioral Education and Research Services improves medical staff performance and patient outcomes... through continuing education, training programs, and consulting services.

Annually 50% of all patient visits result in not following their doctor’s recommendations for care.  The consequences of non-compliance/adherence are that annually 125,000 people die.  Equally important is that 33 to 69% of all hospital admissions could be avoided if patients simply followed orders.

The historical approach for this issue focused on providing better bottles, blister packs, and buzzers to act as reminders to take their medications.

74% of health care providers do not have an active adherence program.  BEARS’ makes the science of behavior available for the 3.1 million nurses and 633,000 physicians responsible for health services delivery. In addition to these health services professionals OTs, PTs, pharmacists, dietitians, speech therapists, audiologists, and others can benefit from the training we offer.   Under the Affordable Care Act of 2010 providers will be held responsible for patients not improving.  Fines can reach $100,000.00 per episode.

BEARS' Applied Behavior Management (ABM) courses offer a series of training programs that take users from wondering to knowing why people behave the way they do.  More important these courses provide the tools necessary for shaping behavior to improve adherence and health, better patient educator performance at the bedside and high quality customer service in the security and safety arenas.

In addition to our nurse training programs we have extensive experience in training parents and educators of special needs children and have developed simple, but effective programs to assist you in your day-to-day experience.
